As parents and guardians of our children, we help prepare them for every aspect of their lives. What begins with tiny steps, grows into going off to school and making friends. As parents, you play the most critical role in preparing your child for the sacraments as well.
Our next stops on the journey to initiation come with the sacrament of First Eucharist. Our journey towards Christ has reminded us that we are his (baptism), that he is merciful (reconciliation), and allows us to partake in the feast of unconditional love (Eucharist).
The current resources are helpful for exploring the sacrament of First Eucharist.
Consider using this prayer as you prepare to celebrate the sacrament of Eucharist:
A Prayer while preparing for First Eucharist:
Thank you, God, for this time together to prepare for the Sacrament of the Eucharist. I ask you to be with me as I learn about the Church. Help me to become a better follower of Jesus and spread his love to others. I ask all of this in your name. Amen.

We are so excited to take this next step on your sacramental journey with you. At the celebration of Eucharist, we are all welcomed at the table of the Lord.
We hear about the importance of feeding a lot in Sacred Scripture. In fact, Jesus is often found feeding people! Watch the video below to learn about a time that Jesus fed lets of people.
Remember, just as Jesus cared about the physical hunger of the people he fed in this story, he cares about our spiritual hunger too! He offers us his body and blood each time we receive the Eucharist.
As part of your child's preparation for First Eucharist, we ask you to work together to make a banner. The banner will be present on the end of your pew during our celebrations.
You can purchase a kit from Amazon or Oriental Trading, or use felt from a local craft store to create your banner.
