Through the name that we receive at Baptism God tells us:
"I have called you by name, you are mine."
Prayer for Baptism
Faithful and loving God,
bless those who care for these children
and grant them your gifts of love, wisdom and faith.
Pour upon them your healing and reconciling love,
and protect their home from all evil.
Fill them with the light of your presence
and establish them in the joy of your kingdom,
through Jesus Christ our Lord
Did you know? Baptism can happen at any age! The only requirement is that of faith.
The water we are baptized in symbolizes cleansing and new life. This is why we are given a white garment and a candle during the ritual.
When we baptize our infants we are making a promise to raise our children in the faith
Prior to the baptism of your child, we spend time learning more about the sacrament together. Baptism Preparation classes are held the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7 PM. Call the parish office at (330)533-6839 to register today.
At baptism, we promise to raise our children in the faith. But parenting can be really hard!
Please know that we, as your church family, are here to support you. Our parish family loves to hear the sounds of little ones at Mass - please don't ever feel the need to leave!
We also offer busy bags and children's worship aids at the entrances to our worship space for your children, if you so desire.
We offer a special program for our 3-5 year olds called Stories and Scriptures - see below for more details.
Lastly, we offer Children's Liturgy of the Word during our Sunday Mass times. This offers children in grades K-3 the opportunity to hear and talk about the readings at their level.
